I was taught to paint by Nerina Simi in Florence. Signorina Simi was over 90 when I joined her studio in Via Tripoli; she had taken it over from her father back in the 1920's. He was Filadelfio Simi and had been a pupil of Jean Leon Gerome who had been taught by the great classical painter, Dominique Ingres.

I was a Simi pupil for six years and then returned to England where I have painted professionally ever since. I have also taught drawing and painting to small groups and individuals and have recently designed eight themed courses to suit a range of interests and levels of ability. You can choose one to suit you.

Painting courses start on Monday and finish on Friday with a session of three hours each afternoon. The courses are restricted to no less than two and no more than five people. Hence you will receive very individual help and attention. You may be pursuing a beloved hobby or wish to build a career in painting - either way you will learn lasting, classic skills that can be applied in the future.
